Question:

We have a 2015 GMC HD 6’6” bed. It appears to already have the demco SL rails in place and we just need the hitch. The measurements of the center of the holes on the slides that run the rails is 38.5” would this be the width of the SL series 16k hitch?

I spoke with Demco and they believe you have a model of rails for a hitch that was phased out in the mid 2000's so you won't be able to find the correct fitting hitch unless you buy one secondhand.

I recommend replacing the whole setup with the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider # C16521 and Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC # C16411-204. The custom fit base rails will cut down installation time and prevent you from having to drill into the frame to install. The sliding hitch will provide 12" of fore and aft movement and comes with a 3-Point indicator system that is color coded to tell you if the hitch is ready to uncouple, couple, or tow and is visible from the cab of the truck.
