Question:

Have a Hollywood Bike rack, hly94fr, and am considering a swing away hitch extender. Both the Kuat and yakima models say in the videos that they only work with true 2” bike racks. The Hollywood is 1.25 with a 2” bushing. Does that mean the bike rack won’t work? Thanks for any help.

If you are looking to use the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches # Y02483 or the Kuat Pivot 2 - 2" Hitches # PVP20B, you will be able to use your Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # HLY94FR the 2-inch shank bushing. It is important to note that both the Yakima BackSwing and the Kuat Pivot 2 are compatible only with 2-inch hitch receivers.

In chooseing between the BackSwing and the Pivot 2, I recommend going with the Pivot 2 # PVP20B. The huge advantage of the Pivot 2 is that it can adjust to two different swinging angles. You can adjust the mechanism to both 90 degrees or 120 degrees. With the BackSwing, it is only adjustable to the 90-degree angle.
