Question:
Hello I have this hitch installed on my x5 and the rivnut that goes into the subframe is loose and the bolt just spins when trying to tighten, or loosen. How do I either tighten this loose rivnut up or remove and replace?

To get the rivet nut included with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13162 for your 2005 BMW X5 to tighten up you will need to push up with the hitch very tightly to while you torque the bolt in the rivet nut to the specs provided in the instruction manual. This will keep the rivet nut from moving and tighten it up.
Once that is done you will remove the bolt from the rivet nut to remove the regular washer and lock washer, then reinstall the bolt with just the conical tooth washer.
I included a link to the written instructions of the # C13162 for you to take a look at.
