I looked at the lock and the etched number is 2982. When I looked it up it says it’s for a Thule carrier. Are they interchangeable with SportsRack?

Thule manufactures SportRack products including their cargo carrier roof boxes, so they use the same locks.
For your 2982 key, you'll need the # THKEYN2982 replacement key. The keys are sold individually.
