Adding A Furrion RV Back Up Camera To The Front Of A Trailer

Updated 04/22/2024 | Published 07/21/2021

Question:

My trailer already has the rear shark fin camera, can I add the red lens camera on the front of the trailer and have it look down at the hitch.

Yes, you can put the rear camera of the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ 3 Cameras - 5" Screen # FCE48TASL-05 on the front of your trailer or just another Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera # FCN48TASF.

A lot of people usually add another rear camera above their door to use as a security feature. To have your cameras always running you can wire them to the running lights or directly to the battery with an in-line switch to turn them off when needed.

Note: You will need the 5" monitor to be able to link to four cameras, the 4.3" version of this only allows 1 camera.

Kevin, is it possible to mount a camera in the front grille of a 2024 Silverado 2500? Mine doesn’t have that feature or front parking sensors. I do own the Furrion Vision S 7” with three cameras mounted on our trailer. thanks

@JimR You could technically mount another rear camera # FCN48TASF to the front grille but it's not going to look pretty. You would need to find a flat enough spot for the shark fin camera mount to sit and then could just run a power wire from the camera into the running light circuit for your headlights to power it. It's going to look pretty goofy though so I'd look into the cameras that GM offers for the front so you can have something that's integrated more for a cleaner look.
