Question:
I have a Curt Aluminum carrier 2” shank- C18113 model. Will this adapter work? My car is a 2021 Ford Explorer XLT with 2” receiver.

Helpful Expert Reply:
As long as the hitch pin hole of your receiver tube isn't recessed more than 5 inches inboard from the furthest rearward part of the rear bumper, the Surco # 52015 folding adapter would work fine with the Curt # C18113 carrier installed in the hitch on your 2021 Ford Explorer. If the hitch recessed so that the hitch pin hole is recessed by more than 5 inches under the vehicle, the folding adpater won't allow enough space for your carrier to fold.
I've linked to a video showing how to measure to determine how far the hitch is recessed under the vehicle.
