Is Hitch Extender, part # hes6, an adapter or extender?

Question:
I want to make sure this is not 1 1/4 to 2. I am using this to extend the receiver for my ATV. The Blackline snow plow wont go in all of the way with the brush quard on the front of the ATV and I need just a few more inches to make it work but it has to be 1 1/4

Expert Reply:
This Hitch Extender For 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver, 6 inch, code # hes6, extends your tongue 6 inches, but will not adapt it to a 2-inch receiver, so this is perfect for your application. This will do the job for you, but be careful not to exceed the reduced capacity of your tongue weight. So if your hitch tongue weight capacity was 200 lbs, the extender will reduce it to 100 lbs maximum.
