Question:

We have a 2011 Coachmen Catalina with a manual awning. Tag on awning shows it’s a Dometic Sunchaser. We want to convert to power. What all do we need including new awning material because that is in bad shape.

We can absolutely get you set up to convert your Dometic Sunchaser awning to a power awning, and what you will need to do is first measure how much space you have from your awning rail straight down. This should be at least 63 inches, and if you have up to 69 inches you can use the longer arm assembly:

- 63" Arms - Black: Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC759516

- 63" Arms - White: Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC759404

- 69" Arms - Black: Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC434723

- 69" Arms - White: Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC434724

These will work as replacements for your Dometic Sunchaser, giving you a power awning assembly that is much easier to use than a manual assembly so it is a really nice choice for an upgrade.

In regards to material, I do assume you mean awning fabric, and for that what you'll need to do is measure the width of your awning from the center of the left arm to the center of the right arm. If that measurement was 16 feet, for example, you could use the Solera 16' Replacement Awning Fabric - Black Fade # LCV000334394.

I have added a link below to our entire selection of awning fabric for you which you can filter by size and color, or if you let me know the measurement I can find the right fabric for you.
