Roof Rack and Kayak Lift Assist for 2018 Toyota Camry

Question:

I have a 2018 Camry and am a 60 yr old woman thats started kayaking. I first need a roof rack system naked roof on Camry and would like something so that I can fit the Yakima Show Down on it. Or please recommend another lift assist if you have another option that may be a little less expensive but as good/efficient etc. Thank you in advance for your time and expert advise!

So there's only one assisted kayak carrier that can fit on roof racks that fit the naked roof of a vehicle like what you have on your 2018 Toyota Camry and it's the Thule Hullavator part # TH898. The Showdown you mentioned # Y04081 can't fit this style of roof. I know you mentioned wanting something less expensive if possible but at this time this is only option and does happen to be a really great one that's by far the easiest to use.

So the other thing you'd need is a roof rack which for that the Thule Wingbar Evo part # TH711420, # TH710501, and # TH145082 would be what you'd need. This setup overall will give you a very easy to install and load kayak carrier and roof rack that will only require you to lift your kayaks about waist level.
