Can I Use An Old Thule Foot With A New Thule Fit Kit On My 2017 Volvo V60

Hi, I have an old Thule rack system with square load bars and feet into which the bars slide not like the current slotted bars and feet approach. I would love to continue to leverage that investment again by just adding the appropriate fit kit to the old feet. Would the fit kit parts from current kit 186006 which seems to be the fit kit appropriate for 2017 Volvo V60 cross country with existing flush rails be able to be retrofitted to work with the legacy feet? Any other creative solutions or is the only viable answer to invest in new feet, fit kit, and load bars? Thanks

You are correct. The Fit Kit for Thule Evo Flush Roof Rack Feet - 186006, part # TH186006, will fit the flush rails of your 2017 Volvo V60. However, this fit kit does not work with the previous generations of Thule feet. In addition, your old Thule square load bar will not work with the new Thule feet, since the new feet only work with square load bars that mount via their bottom channel. In order to outfit your 2017 Volvo V60, you will have to get a new roof rack, but you still will be able to use your old roof rack accessories on your new roof rack .

The rack for your vehicle will consist of the following;

Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbars - Steel - 47" Long - Qty 2, part # TH712200,
Evo Flush Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars - Flush Side Rails - Qty 4, part # TH710601,
Fit Kit for Thule Evo Flush Roof Rack Feet - 186006, part # TH186006, and
Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders, in 4, 6, or 8 pack.

This rack has the redesigned Thule SquareBar Evo. These load bars work the same as previous Thule square bars, with the exception of their mounting system. This rack has a weight limit of 165lbs. If you still have your old Thule Lock Cylinders you can use them with your new rack system.
