What I think you are asking is if your 2017 Chevrolet Sonic with RS trim is able to be flat towed. We always suggest that you refer to your vehicle specific owners manual for most accurate information as the OEM should be final authority on vehicle specs. However, from the information available to me, it does not appear that the RS trim package equipped models can be safely flat towed.

If your vehicle specific owners manual does state that your 2017 Chevrolet Sonic can be flat towed, I suggest the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX1703 along with the Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar, # BX7420. This hitch mounted tow bar is non-binding and comes with needed safety cables.

For lighting I recommend the diode kit, # RM-15267, as this will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to provide indicator lights on your towed vehicle. It also has the needed round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle.

Most states now require by law supplemental braking, the easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

Most likely you will also need a high low adapter so that the tow bar will be level when you are flat towing. I attached a link to a page that has all of the ones we carry.
