Is a support strap required for the two bike carrier with an adapter for it to be used in a 2inch receiver hitch?

Expert Reply:
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11407 which is a fit for a Infiniti Q50 does not require a support strap. This was once required for all Curt trailer hitches but has since been removed. In regards to using a 1-1/4" to 2" adapter like part # HTAD, this will reduce the hitch capacity by 50%. The support strap won't eliminate the reduced hitch capacity.
