Can the Curt C12174 be Used to Tow a 2000 Pound Trailer?

From what I could find out about your 2018 Jeep Compass, it has the maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. Though I do suggest confirming this by checking the sticker/label on the inside door jamb of the driver door. This will have all the capacities your vehicle can handle.

If you do confirm that you can tow 2,000 pounds, the Curt # C12174 will definitely be able to handle it. This is rated up to 3,500 pounds towing with a 350 pound tongue weight. However, it should be noted that you towing capacity is limited by the lowest rated item, which in this case will be the vehicle.
