I have a 2018 Subaru Forester with raised factory rails. i was wondering about the longest rails 65” or 68” to mount a Thule Hullivator?

I have a solution for you. Here at etrailer, we fit specific lengths of crossbars that are compatible with the width of your 2018 Subaru Forester. If the crossbars are too long (such as 65" or 68"), the crossbars could actually be dangerous and/or violate state traffic laws.

With that being said, I recommend the Curt Roof Rack for Raised Side Rails - Aluminum - Black - 53-3/8" Long # C18118. The aero-style crossbars of the Curt Roof Rack are compatible with the Thule Hullavator # TH898. Kayak tie-down straps are included with purchase. For extra security of your investment, you can add the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450200.

There is one important thing to keep in mind when installing a Thule Hullavator. In order for the Hullavator's side-loading function to work, there needs to be an addition 4-8 inches of crossbar length that extend past the feet of the crossbar system. In order to confirm if you have enough space, I recommend measuring the spread of your raised rails (from outer edge to outer edge) to see if you have 4-8 additional inches of crossbar length after the feet. I went ahead and attached a diagram for perspective.
