Removing A Thule Easyfold XT From Your Vehicle

Question:

Ive been trying for an hour to get the Easyfold XT out of my trailer hitch. When I turn the key to unlock the knob, the knob just unscrews without lossening the unit in the hitch. Am I missing something?

I spoke with someone from Thule and there are two things that can be causing this issue. The first one is simply losing track of whether the lock core is locked or unlocked. There are no indicators on the core so it is easy to make this mistake. I have had a few customers not realize that the lock core moves independent of the knob. This is the most common problem. If this is not the problem the inside cam is broken. If this is the case you need to file a warranty claim on Thule's website because the rack cannot be repaired an you have to destroy the rack to remove it from your vehicle.
