Can the app run in the background and still alert you if a tire has any changes? Or does it need the additional hardware to do that.

Yes, the app will send a notification even when it is on in the background and not running on the screen to your phone if a sensor detects a fault on the Tire Linc TPMS for RVs and Trailers w/ Signal Booster # LC37VR. These notifications will include tire pressure, tire temperature, sensor signal loss and low battery warnings. You will be able to adjust the minimum and maximum tire pressures and temperatures in the smartphone app.

An Alert Indicator for Tire Linc TPMS # LC38RR can be used as well. This can be mounted inside your vehicle and will alert the driver of an issue. This is helpful in the event that someone else is operating the trailer without your phone. I personally like it so that you know when the alert going to your phone is actually something important that needs to be checked immediately rather than an email that can wait.

Additional Tire Sensors # LC97VR are also available and can be used on spare tires or your vehicle so that you know that your spare tire is ready when you need it.
