Is It Okay for Thule Bike Frame Adapter TH982XT to Fit Loosely
Updated 05/19/2021 | Published 05/18/2021 >
Question:
Hi, I want to order bike frame adapters so that my kids bikes fit on my hitch bike rack. In terms of measuring the kids bikes and choosing the frame adapters, are the frame adapters supposed to fit snugly around the seat tube and handlebar stem or is it okay for the fit to be loose as long as the frame adapter bars wont come off? I really appreciate any help you can give. -Thanks,

Expert Reply:
It is okay for bike frame adapters like the Thule part # TH982XT to fit a little loose. As long as the hook on either end of the adapter are closed around the steering stem and seat post you are fine.
