Question:

Hello, I’m looking for a rack system to carry 2 kayaks that is compatible with my Bakflip MX4 tonneau cover. I have a 2015 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab with a 6 foot bed. Ideally I would love a rack that is easy to remove when not in use.

I have a great suggestion for you. Unfortunately, there are no truck-rack system options that are easily removable when not in use. However, for a rack system that is compatible with your Bakflip MX4 Tonneau Cover, I recommend the Adarac Aluminum Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack # A4001226. The Adarac Ladder Rack installs into the stake pockets and sits on top of the side of the truck beds (allowing for the clearance of the Bakflip MX4).

In addition to the Adarac Ladder Rack, I recommend purchasing the Aluminum Tie-Downs for Adarac Aluminum and Aluminum Pro Series Ladder Rack Utility Rails # A4000882 and two sets of the SmartStraps Ratchet Tie-Down Straps w/ S-Hooks - 1" x 10' # 348155. The mounting points and straps will give you the security you need to keep your kayaks secure on the rails. As optional extra security, you can purchase the sliding, adjustable load stops # A4000880 so the kayaks don't shift on the rails.
