I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition w/Turbo. Im considering my options for a hitch to be used only for a 2 bike bicycle rack. But I want to minimize the hitch weight. How much does the Item # e98902 weigh? Item # C12170?

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98902 you were looking at for your 2021 Mazda CX-5 Turbo Carbon Edition weighs in at 34lbs, and the # C12170 weighs in at 32lbs.

Between these two I would still go with the # e98902 even though it is 2lbs heavier, due to it being having higher capacities at 600lb tongue weight and 4000lb trailer weight where the # C12170 is rated for 350lbs tongue weight and 3500lb trailer weight.

The other reason is due to the # e98902 having a 2" receiver where the # C12170 only has a 1-1/4" receiver. A 2" receiver is typically preferred when available due to it giving you the most options when it comes to accessories.

For a bike rack I recommend taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HLY94FR which will fit in either of the receivers mentioned, and will accommodate two bikes weighing up to 35lbs each.
