Adapter For Mounting Thule Echelon 518 Bike Rack to Crossbars With Top Channel

Question:

I have the Thule Rapid Aero RB43. The bars do have a top channel, under the rubber strip, assuming that comes out. Chatting with a saab forum members he suggest it needs the "xadapt" kit to work with the 518 echelon bike rack.
