Choosing 4-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness for 2021 Toyota Sienna

Updated 04/30/2021 | Published 04/29/2021

Question:

do you have a recommendation for a good choice of wiring harness for the Malone MAL24ZR Microsport trailer and our new van 2021 Toyota Sienna? Is it the product you offer: T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector? I dont understand what some of the other products offered accomplish...for instance the ZCI...OK maybe that stands for Zero Contact...and I dont think thats very important for me. nor do I understand what some of the other extras might make sense.....like some of the mounting bracket options..

For your 2021 Toyota Sienna, I'd highly recommend going with a plug-and-play option, such as the Tekonsha
# TK69FR which would work perfectly with no cutting or splicing necessary.

As far as a mounting bracket, you really won't need one as the manufacturer recommends leaving the 4 pole connector in the cargo area of the vehicle when it's not being used. This protects it from damage and from the elements. When you need the connector, you can simply run it out the rear hatch (keeping it away from the latch) and close the rear hatch on it. It sounds counterintuitive, but the weatherstripping on the rear hatch is thick and flexible enough that the wire won't get crimped or damaged in any way. I pulled a PWC trailer for years with my old Kia Sedona, and this method worked perfectly.
