Question:
Alarm is mounted adjacent to door at the floor in Fourwheel Camper. Alarm goes off if the door is left open for more than a minute, especially if sunlight hits the sensor. Does this make sense? Is there anyway to disable the sensor?

Expert Reply:
A detector, like the Atwood AT36681 (DISCONTINUED), should NOT be installed where it will get direct sunlight or open windows or doors. They are sensitive instruments that do on rare occasion give a false alert. I would try relocating your sensor to a wall, near the floor, and not near an air vent or stove. Also keep in mind that these sensors are only good for about 7 years. If your detector runs on batteries consider changing them.
If you need a replacement you can use the RVSafe # RS34FR detector.
