Question:

I have a 2019 sprinter that Id like to install the Yakima lock and load or the Rhino rack on top. My question is Id like it to be a close to the roof as possible for height reasons, so Id love to not have cross bars and mount it right to the roof rails. Is that possible? Thanks for all your help!

There is a possible solution for you, but there aren't any Yakima or Rhino-Rack platform racks that can fit your 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 without having a crossbar system.

For your crossbars, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars, part # RRVA180B-2. They are aero-style crossbars that are better at reducing wind noise and drag than other styles. I've linked to a video review of these crossbars below.

To mount these crossbars, you will need the Quick Mount Legs, part # RRRLT600, and the Quick Mount Nuts, part # RRQMFK11-2. This system is for the high roof with factory installed tracks that run front to back model of your Sprinter. If this is not your model, then let me know.

As for the platform rack, the Rhino-Rack Universal Pioneer Platform Rack for Crossbars, part # RR42114BF, will work very well with the Vortex Aero crossbars. It measures 48-3/8" long x 37-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" high. I've linked to a video review of this as well.
