Extra Wire For Side Marker Light With Furrion Vision S System
Updated 04/23/2021 | Published 04/22/2021 >
Question:
i have the side marker lights with LESs. There are four wires instead of three. The fourth wire is labeled Triggerinch and the instructions show the location of the turn signal wires on the main trailer wiring harness. Do I need to wire the trigger wire to the turn signal which would require fishing added wires from the wiring harness or can I leave them unconnected or connected to the power source Clearance lights. There is only the trailer lights wire and ground wire located behind the existing clearance lights.

Regarding the wiring of the side lights and cameras in the Furrion # FCE48TASL-05 it is pretty straight forward since this light is an always-on side marker/clearance lamp.
You will remove the original light from the side of the trailer and disconnect it from the wiring. The old wiring will likely be one wire white and one wire black. You should use a volt meter to determine which is the positive and which will be the negative.
The new light with camera will have four wires which are red, brown, black, and “Trigger”.
From the new light, put the red and brown wires together, then connect them to the positive wire coming from the trailer.
From the new light, the black wire will go to the ground wire coming from the trailer. The “Trigger” wire can be capped off as it is not used in this installation.
At the 11:50 minute mark of the attached video you can see the wiring connections being made. It would be beneficial to watch the entire thing.
