Does Trigger Wire for Rear View Safety Backup Camera System Have to be Reverse Light
Updated 04/26/2021 | Published 04/21/2021 >
Question:
Does the camera/rear view monitor have to connect to and be triggered by the reverse gear? Can I just have the camera on at all times as a rear view camera? The rear view mirror in my rig is worthless as it points out the rear window at a very high height and I can see nothing. Having this mirror camera on while driving would make the rig much safer. Will the camera/mirror be powered if I dont connect it to the reverse gear engagement? I see that it can be always on for the 155 model.

Since you can use basically any trigger circuit for the Rear View Safety Backup Camera system part # RVS-772718 you would not have to use the reverse light circuit and you could run it to a circuit that comes on with the ignition so that it is active all the time.
