Chevy Colorado 4WD with automatic transmissions from 2015 to 2021 are confirmed per the owner's manuals to be able to be flat towed. 2WD Colorado's are not flat tow capable due to the risk of damaging the drivetrain. You'll want to follow all directions in your owner's manual for flat towing. One of those directions is to disconnect the battery so you'll need to use a braking system that will wire directly to your battery and you'll want to use a battery charger like the BrakeBuddy Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Kit Item # BB54FR to prevent your battery from dying while towing.
To flat tow you'll need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, baseplates, braking system, and safety cables.
I've attached pictures of the owner's manual flat towing section for a 2019 Chevy Colorado for you.
When you decide what year Colorado to get please reply back and I'll recommend the correct fitting flat tow gear for you.
