To flat tow your 2002 Ford Excursion behind your motor home is going to require a few components. I recommend the following:

Blue Ox Base Plate Item # BX2163 which bolts to the chassis of your Excursion to provide a solid connection point for a tow bar.

Item # BX7420 which is the Blue Ox Avail tow bar. This tow bar has a 10,000lb towing capacity so it will be more than enough for your excursion. It is a non-binding tow bar and fits 2" x 2" receiver tubes. This tow bar comes with safety cables which is one less thing you have to worry about purchasing.

Item # RM-15267 which allows your Excursion to receive light functions from your motor home. This kit uses diodes to protect your factory wiring from back feed. It comes with the 6 pole plug to mount to the from of the vehicle and the umbilical to go from the 6 pole plug to the 7 pole plug on the back of the RV.

The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is a portable braking system that can be used with virtually every flat towed vehicle and it's light weight and easy to set up.
