Question:
Hi there, I’m thinking of buying this camera system to use with my 25 foot travel trailer camera mounted on the rear of trailer and my Ford F150 pick up. If it only comes with one 65 foot cable, how do you disconnect from the trailer and have a disconnect of the camera system at the hitch? Don’t I need one cable for the trailer, and one for the pickup? If so, I’d use the 65’ for the trailer and another shorter one for the pickup. Or do you cut the cable at the hitch, and put on connectors?

Correct, with the Buyers Products RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision - Rear Mount - 7" Screen, # 3378883000, you will need to drill a 0.8" (20 mm) hole for passing the camera cable through. Then use split grommets/sealant where needed. Making splice connections is pros/cons of wired vs. wireless systems. Wireless systems may have interference dependent on environment, hard wire systems may require splicing connections, or purchase accessory cable for separation point(s). Also possible to have single cable attached to RV and when towing pass the cable through the back window of truck cab (not ideal).
