Will the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier and Lift Assist Fit on a 2018 Ram 2500 with a Bed Cap?

Question:

I have a 2018 2500 Ram truck with a 6.6 ft bed with a Leer cap has the factory roof rack option that i would like to use the Hullavator on. My question is can the 10ft. sit on top Kayaks be put on upside down, so i would not have to put the front strap on am concerned the strap will take the paint off the hood of the truck. with the kayaks upside down the air flow will push the kayaks down. The front of the kayaks come to the center of the back seat.

I confirmed with the manufacturer that the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier and Lift Assist with Tie-Downs # TH898 is made to hold a kayak right-side-up. The straps that come with the Hullavotor have padded buckles to make sure not to damage your vehicle at the attach points. One additional thing that might help with air flow concerns is spacing your crossbars to the maximum separation (over at least 24 inches) so that it would be harder to unbalance the kayak due to wind resistance at a single balance point.
