One other thing I would say differently is my recommendation of a kayak carrier. For a J-style carrier that can also be used as a post-style carrier to carry to kayaks, I recommend the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier # Y04073. This has a built in ramp on the end to help you slide your kayak into the carrier. Another option is the Malone FoldAway-5 # MAL38FR. This one is super versatile but does require a little more install effort to find the best configuration on your vehicle.
