Question:

Ive researched your site, Im looking for the best/easiest rack for my 2009 Prius and really like the TH480R is for the Rapid Aero bars. Questions: I have a sunroof, will the sunroof still open with out interference? My wife has a 2012 Prius V, will the Thule rack work on her V when we go on long road trips?

If your 2009 Toyota Prius has the type of sunroof that does NOT extend all the way to the sides of the roof then you can install a roof rack. Otherwise if the glass goes all the way to the sides you will not be able to mount a roof rack because the glass is not rated for the weight.

For the traditional type of sunroof it is very possible that it will interfere with the rack when opened unless the bars were removed. Removing the bars would be a good idea anyway when not in use to cut down on noise and drag, even though the WingBars offer little of both.

For the 2009, since you like the Evo Clamp foot pack, # TH710501, you will need to add the bars, # TH711400 for silver or # TH711420 for black, and the fit kit # TH145181.

For the 2012 Toyota Prius V with or without a glass roof, you can use the same crossbars, but need the Evo clamp feet, # TH710501, and a different fit kit, # TH145129.
