Question:
I put your universal Class 5 receiver on my former school bus. Now I need a hitch that can tow my 5,000 lb truck on an auto trailer. Bus receiver is 24” high, if average coupler is 17”, I will need at least a 7” hitch that can handle the load. Would this hitch be my best choice?

The best option for a ball mount is one which is adjustable as this allows you to tow multiple different trailers assuming the rise/drop needs fits that of the ball mount. Furthermore, you'll need to go with an adjustable option anyhow to obtain the weight capacity you're after. I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount part # BWTS10049B. It offers up to a 7" drop and has a 10K capacity.
