Question:

I need to know the maximum leg length of a thule hideaway awning. It would go on a 4x4 Sprinter and needs to be probably 9 foot long or longer.

I have a solution for you, but there is not an awning that's truly designed to extend parallel to the ground from your coach, so the legs on most awnings are going to be shorter than where the awning is mounted. This helps keep water from pooling on top of the awning fabric and stretching it out or potentially damaging the legs of the unit.

With that said, the legs on the Thule HideAway Awning - Direct Mount # TH490011 extend 8 feet and would give you the tallest awning we have available. These legs do fold up into the awning so you do not have to remove them every time you use the awning, which makes it easy to use. I will add that not all Thule awnings have consistent lengths of the legs since the mounting styles and intended uses are all slightly different. The Thule HideAway Roll Out Awning for ProMaster or Sprinter - Roof Mount - Waterproof - 80 sq ft # TH620001 also has a maximum leg height of 8 feet long, but the legs must be detached for storage.
