Question:

Im looking for a roof rack that will carry 2sit on top kayaks for a 2019 Ford edge. I do not have side rails and I have a full glass roof. I would like to have the side of the kayak by side if possible. I would also like the crossbars to extend beyond the mounting position. Please include any recommendations for the hardware for holding the kyaks

I have a great roof rack recommendation for you!

It's the Yakima HD Crossbars, part # Y01157. These aero-style crossbars are 60" in length, so they will extend past the feet by about 5" on each side. Combine these with the BaseLine Towers, part # Y28TR, and the two BaseClips, part # Y06102 and # Y06139, to complete the roof rack setup. I've linked to a video review of the HD bars for you to look at.

As for the kayaks carriers, there may not be enough room to lay two of them down flat side-by-side, so I recommend getting two J-style carriers. A good one is the Swagman Contour, part # S65148. This will have the kayak on its side at a slant, making it very easy to get the kayak down if the carrier is placed near the edge of the roof rack. They come with all of the straps necessary to secure the kayaks. Getting two of these and putting one on each side will optimize loading and transporting your kayaks.
