Question:
I wanted to make sure that the chains will work on my 2011 GMC Acadia because the clearance is very small between the tire and the shook spring. I have used a low profile chain and it gets lose and hits the spring. Would your cable chain stay very snug to the tire?

Expert Reply:
Typically, the cable-style tire chains are more low-profile and are better for vehicles like yours that have a small space between the tire and the vehicle's components. The cables also typically have a tighter fit compared to the bulky chains.
If your 2011 GMC Acadia has 255/65-18 tires then you will want to go with Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains - Ladder Pattern - Steel Rollers - 1 Pair # TC2029. If you have 255/60-19 tires then go with Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains - 1 Pair # PW2028C. If you have the 255/55-20 tires then you will want Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains - Light Truck - 1 Pair # TC747DC.
Each cable set mentioned above works best when paired with a rubber adjuster such as Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster # TCMA1. This will keep the cables extra tight and secure on your tires. Also, each cable pair above is Class S-Compatible, which is required for some vehicles. With all this being said, it is still best to check your owner's manual to see if the manufacturer recommends use of tire chains on your vehicle. I have attached demonstration videos for these products. If you happen to have a tire size not listed above, then provide me with the correct tire size and I will find you the correct snow tire cables.
