How To Carry 6 Bikes On A 2017 Chevrolet Traverse

Question:

I have a 2017 Chevy Traverse. I know there is a hitch but just got the car a few months ago and haven’t looked at the size of it or anything. I have 4 kids and am looking for a bike rack that can hold 5 bikes maybe 6. What are some good options for me as far as ease of use, ability to fit all of the bikes on, etc. I would say right now we need the option to get 2-3 adult size bikes as well as 2-3 children’s bikes on the rack at the same time. Since you may be transporting 6 bikes, you have three choices. First, there is a hitch-mounted 6-bike carrier available, # Y02485 however, it only works if all 6 bikes have suspension forks.

Second, we have the 6-bike carrier # Y39GR. It works with mountain bikes, road bikes, kid's bikes, BMX bikes, fat bikes, and lighter e-bikes. This is my favorite choice for you.

Finally, you could get a hitch-mounted 5-bike carrier and then a roof-mounted bike rack for the last bike. For this option you will need a 5-bike rack for the hitch, a roof rack with crossbars, and a single bike rack for the roof. Let me know if you need help with this option I can get you all set.
