Chevy used to have a plug in port for a brake controller harness for trucks and full size SUVs but they stopped doing that several years ago (2006 was the last year). Now there should be a bundle of wires tucked up underneath the dash held together with a tag. The tag also lists the functions of the wires on it. You will just need to splice the brake controller wires to the tow package wires by functions.
On the controller, the white wire is ground, black is 12 volt power, blue is output to the trailer brakes, and red is input from the brake switch. The tow package wiring on the truck should have a white wire for ground, a red/black wire for 12 volt power, a light blue and white wire for input from the brake switch, and a dark blue wire for output to the trailer brakes. If you see an orange wire it will not be used.
I included a picture that shows you what this wire bundle might look like under the dash. For a brake controller I recommend the P2, # 90885. This is one of our most popular controllers because it is reliable, easy to set up, and easy to use.
