How do I re-affix a self adhesive water tank heater that is hanging partially off?

It sounds like you have a heating pad like the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad w/ Thermostat # 277-000164. I reached out to my contact at Lasalle Bristol and they recommend using 3M Hi Strength 90 spray adhesive to reattach the pad to your water tank. You should be able to find the spray adhesive at a local auto parts or hardware store.
They mentioned the most common reason the adhesive doesn't stick is that the tank was not quite clean and they recommend using Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the surface, and let it dry before installing the pad.
