re: ing 12 drum brake kit Have an old tandem axle trailer with 8,000 lb AL-KO axles, I think they are 8k rated, but cannot find a marking to cross reference. Want to complete the whole brake upgrade, but at a loss how to correctly identify the right brake plate kit.

Since you have a set of 12 inch Al KO brake assemblies on your trailer you will need to replace them with the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes - 12" - Left/Right Hand - 8K AL-KO/Hayes Axles # K23-532-533-00
These use a unique 4 bolt pattern that the more standard assemblies out there don't quite match.
