Compatibility of Pop and Lock # PAL8250 With Replacement Tailgate on 2005 Ford F150

Question:
I recenty got my tailgate stolen from my truck so I bought another tailgate w/ a key lock in it. Will this part be able to lock and unlock tailgate even though I can not lock the tailgate with my Truck key? Or will I have to get tailgate keyed to match my Truck key? I have a 2005 Ford F150 FX4.

According to my contact at Pop and Lock, the # PAL8205 will lock and unlock your tailgate independently of the key lock, as long as it is a Ford tailgate. You will also be able to unlock the tailgate with the key and lock it with the key fob or vice versa. In other words, there will be complete compatibility between the PAL8205, your tailgate and the existing electric locks on your truck.
