A complete flat towing setup consists of base plates and a compatible tow bar, tow bar wiring, safety cables, supplemental braking and possibly a high/low adapter. I've listed the parts that I recommend for your 2014 Ford Explorer as I don't have a way to verify what's in your cart.
Base Plates- Blue Ox # BX2632
Tow Bar- Blue Ox Alpha 2 # BX7380 (compatible with the above mentioned base plates and comes with safety cables included)
Tow Bar Wiring- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
Supplemental Braking- Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251
High/Low Adapter- Check attached article on how to measure to determine if this is needed
I've also linked some installation and review videos of these parts for you to check out.
