Question:
Hello! I was hoping to purchase a trailer hitch for my husband but honestly have no idea how to make sure I get the right item and parts. He has a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and would be looking to use it for the occasional RV or Airstream tow on road trip vacations. Any help or advice would be so welcome! Thank you!

Although we offer several different hitches for a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, I'd recommend the Curt Class III, part
# 13160. The hitch uses a round tube crossbar, which most folks better looking than the square tube the other hitches use. The hitch has a full 5000 lb towing/500 lb tongue weight (maximum amount of downward pressure that can be applied safely to the hitch) capacity. The hitch is also US made.
If you'll be towing an RV with electric brake, he'll also need a # 118354 trailer wiring harness, a brake controller such as the Tekonsha Primus # TK90160 and an # ETBC7 install kit for the brake controller.
I've linked to a product installation video, and so some help articles.
