What Size Hole Do I Have To Drill For The Furrion Marine Power Outlet # F30ITRBS?

Question:

Hi, I just purchased this inlet and delivery is supposed to be tomorrow. Im heading to the hardware store today so was hoping you could tell me what size hole saw to buy. I saw somewhere 2 1/4inch was thrown out but that seems small. I just want to confirm. Also, is mounting hardware included? Thanks!

I've gone ahead and pulled the Furrion Marine Power Inlet # F30ITRGS from the warehouse to check this for you. The diameter is 2-3/8 inches. Grab the closest hole saw you can get. If you cant get that exact size hole saw and had to choose between a smaller or bigger hole saw I would go with the smaller size and take a file to shave down the hole until you get a nice tight fit. the seal is about 1/2 inches wide so you could get away with a whole saw a little less than 3 inches if need be.

Make sure that you have enough depth behind the wall before you drill. The overall depth with the seal is 2-3/8 inches. You will also have some wires coming out the back so leave a little more room, about 3 inches from the inside of the wall. Hardware is not included, but it only takes two self tapping screws to install so be sure to grab two of those when you're out and about!
