Difficulty of Running Board and Light Installation on a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

how hard is this to wire into/on a jeep 2012 grand cherokee overland. also, how hard is installing their running boards. My wife wants the step-up into her car

Installation difficulty of any part is always arbitrary and depends a lot on the individual doing the installation. If you have experience with automotive and/or wiring projects then you would find this installation difficulty to be on the easier side. The wiring aspect of it is probably more difficult than the installation of the running boards like # 27-6115-1975.

The running boards come with a vehicle specific mounting kit and bolt on so it is not all that difficult. The wiring on the other hand is not vehicle specific so you will have to know how to test wires using a circuit tester like # PTW2979 if needed. You will also need to access the wires, tap into them, and make good connections. If you are familiar with this type of work it will probably be a breeze. If you have never done anything like this I would recommend a a trusted mechanic perform this part of the installation.
