What kind of hitch do I place on Jay Feather M218 to install cargo carrier? Your bolt on hitch says it is not intended for the cargo carrier.

We have several different trailer hitch options that will allow you to use a cargo carrier on your Jay Feather M218 trailer. You must keep in mind that there is significantly more bouncing at the back of the trailer and because of this we recommend taking extra precautions when using a cargo carrier behind a trailer or RV.
If you want to use a bumper mounted hitch like the Ultra-Fab Bumper Mount Hitch, # UF35-946402, you will first want to verify the weight capacity of your trailers bumper. The Ultra-Fab hitch has a weight capacity of 200 lbs. It is important that you do not exceed the lowest weight rating between the hitch and your trailer bumper.
A better option would be a frame mount hitch like the Curt Adjustable Hitch, # 13703. This hitch will bolt or weld to the trailer frame and provide a more secure receiver for a cargo carrier. It is also recommended that a stabilization strap, # 18050, be used with all non-trailer loads. This hitch will give you a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. Most bumper mount trailer hitches will only have a capacity of up to 200 lbs.
