Is there Wider Mounting Hardware for a Thule Evolution Cargo Box to Fit a 2012 Mercedes GL

The U bolts are not wide enough to fit the factory cross bars on the GL, are there wider fittings available that I can replace the standard set that come with the evolution?

If you want to put in different mounting hardware in your Evolution cargo box, you will have to modify the box which will void any warranty on it and could compromise the structural integrity of the box.
The Quick Grip mount, # TH05738, when fully opened, is 3-1/2 inches wide at the mouth and 5-3/8 inches wide at the widest point like in the picture I have provided. In addition to 4 of these you will also need 4 cradles, # TH8523387001, and 4 slide strips, # TH05401.
