Front Power Stabilizer Jacks Not Extending Or Retracting But Motor Is Working
Updated 11/25/2020 | Published 11/24/2020 >
Question:
My keystone Springdale has front and rear power stabilizers. I’m having a trouble shooting issue, the front motor operates normally when the switch is pressed but the front stabilizers don’t extend or retract unless I do it manually. The first time I manually extended them it felt like it was a little stuck, but then broke free and went down using the electric motor. I lubed the center drive screw fir lack of a better term and they didn’t retract electrically. Any direction to look in would be great thanks.

There are a few things that could be causing the issue with the front stabilizing jacks on your Keystone Springdale.
Since you mentioned that starting to lower the jack manually allowed the electric motor to work it sounds like the battery for your trailer may be weak not allowing the jack to work properly.
This is not an uncommon issue as raising a trailer requires quite a bit of power and it is definitely possible that the battery only has enough power to turn the motor but not extend the jack without help.
If you try to manually extend or retract the jack and it is difficult to turn your jack make have damaged internal components and will require replacement. If you do need to replace your jacks and you can provide me with the brand and model of your current jacks I would be happy to recommend the correct part for you.
