Compatibility of 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350 4 Matic Towing Boat Over 2,000 lbs

Question:

Hi, I have a 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350 4 Matic and im looking to tow a boat with it since it has 4 wheel drive. According to MBUSA manufacturer my car can tow up to 3500lbs but your trailer is rated for a max 2000. Im assuming the boat is a little over 2000 at 2300 or so and was wondering if that will be okay? the boat alone without the trailer is about 2000.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11001 is the only hitch receiver we have confirmed as a fit for your vehicle by the hitch receiver manufacturer. Their testing leaves that hitch at a max weight rating of 2,000 lbs for towing, so you will need to either find a different boat to pull or utilize a different vehicle to pull it.

The max capacity for towing will be determined by the weakest component, so even though your vehicle is rated to tow a greater amount, the hitch will reduce your max capacity and limit you to 2,000 lbs.
