I want to mount these on the side of my sprinter van, will it hold the same as going on the roof?

The Seasucker brand which includes the SeaSucker Board Carrier # 298-BX1806 is awesome because they're designed for extreme versatility and mounting equipment without a roof rack or hitch. My friends at SeaSucker confirm that it can absolutely be mounted to the side of your Sprinter van.
I have some extra tips when using this carrier. First to make sure you're within the weight capacity. While the SeaSucker Board Carrier # 298-BX1806 can hold up to 100 lb on the roof of your vehicle where weight is distributed, I advise not to overburden it when it is mounted sideways.
Another thing you will want to pick up is the SeaSucker Cable Anchor- Window Mounted # 298-BA0010 and cable lock like # e98891. This will secure your carrier and your boards.
