DC to DC Charger for 2023 Ford F-350 Towing Brinkley G3500

Question:

I have a 2025 Brinkley G3500 that is set up for DC to DC charging according to the manufacturer. My tow vehicle is a 2023 Ford F350 6.7 Power Stroke with a 7-pin round trailer connector but the vehicle is not set up for DC to DC charging. Do you have a product I could use to get power from the tow vehicle to the RV?

Hey Keith, nice 5th wheel! We do have what you need to get power from your vehicle to the Brinkley. The Victron Orion XS # VN93VR is what I recommend. This DC to DC charger will allow you to safely charge your batteries with your 2023 F-350 alternator.

It features engine shutdown detection so it will only pull power when the truck is running. It also has a 50A output so you will get meaningful charging on what I'm sure is a 200-300 Ah battery bank. The Orion XS is lithium compatible and supports all common lead-acid chemistries. The other great thing about it is the small design, at 5-3/8" tall x 4-7/8" wide x 1-5/8" deep it fits pretty much anywhere.

You won't be charging through the 7-way, so you will need to run additional wire and a connector. I'm not sure if the Brinkley has a connector on it already or not. You can match that or use Anderson connectors if it doesn't have any.

Where are you headed next with the Brinkley?
